Client Testimonials I have been seeing Dr. Yee since early in 2008 with a persistent problem of plantar faceitis of my rt foot. I had this problem for over a year and had spent hundreds of dollars on treatments for it. This included visits to the Foot Clinic, expensive orthotics ($700), acupuncture and herbal medicines as well as purchasing my own personal ultrasonic machine for treatments. I felt the benefits of the Graston Techniques very soon after beginning treatments and am now,I am almost pain-free. Thank you, thank-you it is wonderful to get up and not have foot pain. Pat Mercer-Deadman RN ---------- I started seeing Dr. Yee for chronic migraines. With a few active release treatments I felt completely different and was able to cut the 292's altogether. I then asked Dr. Yee if he was able to help me with what I thought was arthritis in both my hands (turns out to be 38 years of repetitive work). The pain was unbelievable. I am a quilter and gardener, so I was really worried for my retirement years. With approximately 6 treatments to my hands the pain is gone and have regained the strength in them and am able to hold scissors comfortably again. Dr. Yee has also relieved the pain in my knee with his active treatment techniques. Dr. Yee thank you for making me feel well again so that I can continue to be active and do the things that I love. Audrey Woywitka ---------- Over 20 years ago, I sustained a significant knee injury while skiing. At the time I was not particularly active, so I did not receive rigorous follow up treatment. I re-injured the knee twice afterwards, with minimal follow up. These repeated injuries resulted in a serious loss of flexibility throughout my entire right leg, a highly limited range of motion in my knee, and occasional pain and swelling. I am now a second degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. Regular exercise made significant improvements in my leg strength and flexibility, but I had definitely reached a plateau and was no longer seeing any improvements. I saw a physician who suggested that the only way to improve my range of motion was to look at arthroscopic surgery. I was very reluctant to have surgery, as a number of my fellow Taekwondo students had had knee surgery that resulted their not being able to continue their Taekwondo training. I asked a few of my fellow students, and a number of them recommended trying Active Release Therapy through Dr. Yee. I started therapy in April and results were immediate. Dr. Yee started with ART in my leg muscles to increase flexibility. The improvement that I saw after even the first visit was remarkable. Within a couple of weeks I noted huge improvements in strength and flexibility, and my confidence in my knee stability increased exponentially. Eventually Dr. Yee also introduced the Graston technique, which resulted in even greater improvement. Working directly on my knee, he has achieved a range of motion that I have not experienced in many years. Sometimes the treatments are uncomfortable, but I really look at it as short term pain for long term gain! Regards, ---------- In the spring of 2006 my husband and I began training for a half-marathon. We were celebrating a milestone year and wanted to cap it off by finishing a half marathon together, my third and his first. Two months into training I developed the most intense pain in both my knees. I had been running since I was a kid and luckily had never experienced any injury or pain associated with running. My doctor referred me to a physiotherapist. I did everything she told me to do. Stopped running and just worked out in the gym. Still 4 months later I had pain in both knees after only 5 km of running. While going to the gym I also started going to a chiropractor. Again no results after more than three months. Running is my passion. It is the only thing in my life that is just for me. I am a busy wife and mother of three kids. Running is my outlet to relieve all the stresses that life throws us. I was getting down and so frustrated. In the spring of 2007 I decided I would try to train again for a half. Cindy Keith, my friend and running instructor referred me to Dr. Doug Yee. Dr. Yee is a certified Chiropractor. Dr. Yee has also achieved the highest level of training in the practice of Active Release Therapy (ART). I had no knowledge of ART. Cindy told me that if not for Dr. Yee, she would not be running today. Tanya Stella ---------- I am a senior and I am developing several aches and pains. Dr. Doug Yee has been treating me for a stiff and sore neck and shoulder. Warren ---------- Dear Dr. Yee Well in July 2007 I had fallen down the stairs and injured my lower back and thought nothing of it, but the pain kept getting more and more severe, till I could hardly walk, and that is when my husband had called your office and made an appointment for me. Thank you so very much for taking me as a patient and restoring my faith in Doctors again. ---------- Dr. Yee is my “Magic Man.” I say this because I have had a chronic back problem in the right shoulder blade area for years- at least 15, maybe 20 years. It’s been so long that I don’t remember how or why it started. The pain used to vary from a constant dull ache to so severe that I would walk around holding my right arm in my left arm, not moaning in agony but most definitely feeling like it. I lived with Robaxacet in my pocket. I must confess that I did not seek aide from the traditional medical profession. I was afraid…afraid that something was either seriously wrong, or nothing was wrong and I would just be given pain killers. The pain, along with this state of mind, was most certainly affecting my quality of life. About 12 years ago, I discovered the chiropractic profession. At the time, I was in severe-pain mode. When I went to the appointment, laid down on the table and the chiropractor did his ‘bone-crunching’ routine, it was a miracle-immediate relief! I had found the cure. Unfortunately, the relief only lasted about 4 - 8 weeks. It always returned so I continued to seek chiropractic relief over the following years. At the same time that I was seeing Dr. Yee for my training-issues, I was also seeing my regular chiropractor for my back/shoulder area – call it loyalty. However, after the marathon, when the pain in my back/shoulder area came back, I decided to give Dr. Yee’s technique a try. After a period of intense therapy followed by regular maintenance appointments, I am truly amazed to report that I have periods of no pain and those periods are lasting longer and longer. In 2006, I went almost 6 months before I had to make another appointment! I am forever grateful to Dr. Yee for his patience and his expertise. I am amazed! Bernadette Rayner ---------- I was in a car accident in 2000 and suffered soft tissue injuries to my mid back. By the time I started seeing Dr. Yee in 2003 I had seen a physio, a chiropractor and a massage therapist who had been unable to eliminate the constant daily pain that persisted after the initial healing took place. Within in a few months, Dr. Yee almost completely eliminated the discomfort with a combination of active release and traditional chiropractic techniques, and today (4 1/2 years later) I can get through my day-to-day activities without any problems. Any flare-ups as a result of over use are now easily treated. ---------- I have suffered for over 20 years with chronic back and neck pain, finding no relief from the traditional chiropractic measures I resolved myself to the fact that it is incurable. Within just a few treatments with Dr. Yee my pain subsided. Within two months, the chronic pain was as if it didn't exist. I recommend Dr. Yee's Active Release Techniques to everyone. ---------- Dear Dr. Doug: ---------- I had lower back problems for 25 years due to falling down the stairs a few times. Then for many years I strained my back by lifting things improperly. I tried a few chiropractors but there was no improvement. I did exercises to strengthen my back but it only helped a little. Finally, someone referred me to Dr. Yee. After using the "active release technique" for the first time I had a lot of relief and with every treatment my back improved more and more. Dr. Yee also showed me some excellent exercises to strengthen my core muscles and this has been a great success. I have to be disciplined and do them every day and now I only see him once a month for treatments. I am overjoyed that the daily pain is gone and thank him for all his knowledge and expertise. Thanks to Dr. Yee for a better and stronger back. A happier, Cindy M ---------- Doug has worked what I consider to be a miracle. With the deep tissue therapy that Doug did I now have full mobility and feel fully recovered. I continue to go to Doug; he has become an integral part of my well being. I have recommended Doug to my family and friends and will continue to do so. Debbie Rasmussen ------I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Dr. Yee for giving me the ability to walk again without pain. For the past 18 months, I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis which had been getting progressively worse despite various treatments. In the beginning it was sore to walk and a chronic discomfort, but over time it progressed to a constant, burning pain throughout my left heel and arch radiating up into the calf. I was walking with a limp, unable to do my job at work, unable to do yard work on our acreage and even unable to sleep at night or play with my kids at the end of the day due to the worsening, chronic pain. Various treatments included orthotics, laser pain therapy, massage therapy, more prescribed orthotics, anti-inflamatories, cortisone injections into the heel, physiotherapy, more prescribed orthotics, foot taping to retrain foot position, countless visits to a podiatrist and time off work. I saw Dr. Yee using the Graston Technique on Global News and thought, " Why not try it" as nothing else had worked. With just two treatments using the Graston Technique I noticed a huge improvement in my mobility and a significant decrease in pain. Five weeks into treatment, I am still feeling improvement. It feels like I have a knew foot. I am now going for walks with my family, sleeping again at night and am in a far better frame of mind without pain with every step. I am now slowly returning to activities that I had simply stopped doing. Thank you for taking the time to optimize each of my treatments by answering my questions and personalizing the treatment to my needs . Your knowledge and expertise are very much appreciated. You and your staff rock!!! Thanks again, Brian Labrentz ------ Dr. Doug Yee is the true embodiment of a healer. For as long as I can remember I’ve had pain in my back and left hip and had ultimately settled on the fact that I would most likely experience this pain forever. Initially I was very skeptical of any chiropractic techniques, but after being educated by Dr. Yee I was more than willing to give it a chance. After just three weeks with Dr. Yee I realized that I do have options and that I don’t have to deal with constant pain. The combination of his chiropractic skills and his active release techniques has had a great impact on my life. He genuinely cared about my quality of life and made it his mission to get to the bottom of my pain. I would highly recommend his techniques and I can honestly say I’ve never felt better.
